Finding Your Niche

Why choose a niche?

A niche is a specification, a sector that you choose within what you are offering and whom you are working with. The more specific you will be, the easier your communication will be. You will be attracting your ideal client and be more authentic. It also is easier to show your expertise when you are specific.

Don’t be afraid to be too narrow. Just because you specify, does not mean, you won’t work in other sectors or other people.

How to choose a niche

There are different ways to choose your niche

  • Experience – What are you most experienced in? Where lies your expertise?
  • Demographics – What kind of demographics do you want to work in/with?
  • Network – Where do you already have a network that can support you on your journey?
  • What do you enjoy most? Which interests do you have?
  • Which challenges do you or friends and family have that you might want to solve?
  • Do a bit of competitor research and see what they are doing. This might give you a clue what to do or not to do.
  • What does the market want? Do some market research and see what the market needs and/or wants.
  • What are you good at?
  • What is authentic for you? Where can you be authentic?
