How to market your business step by step

Marketing is something that no business can ignore. If you don’t tell anyone that you exist, which is basically what marketing is all about, then no one will buy your products or services. But it is also a field that is not easily done by someone who has not done marketing before. Sometimes it is best to either outsource this topic or get started learning about it. But even this can be overwhelming.

But what if you can get bite sized marketing challenges that help you through the entire year building up the knowledge and do little marketing challenges every day? This is exactly what I have created for you with a book and online course for you. But here are some steps that you can take today.

  • Lay the basics for your marketing activities
  • Brainstorm marketing activities that you can use to get the message out there
  • Make a list of the marketing activities that you want to do over the following year
  • Break them down into tasks for each activity
  • Put them into a plan thinking about which activities you realistically can do in the next 30 days, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months

Here are some things to work through to lay the foundations for your marketing activities:

  • Define your ideal client
  • Define your tone of voice
  • Define the benefits of your products/services
  • Think about your customer’s rituals to fit into them
  • Create marketing messages using KISS (keep it short and simple)
  • And much more

I developed an online course and also published a book that can help you with your marketing journey. It is called ‘The Marketing Yearbook – a guide to document your marketing journey. In there you can find 52 challenges – to move forward with your marketing week by week for an entire year. It not only contains tasks related to your business but also to look deeper into your habits, work routine and taking time for yourself as well as productivity. Check out the additional resources below for more info. The free 30 day Kickstart Your business Challenge is more for when you can really dedicate 30 days to kickstart your business. If you are looking more into starting bit by bit in a slower way over the year, I recommend the Start-Up  Yearbook Vol.2 – book or online course that is part of the online community.
